In Europe, calcium formate is used in chemical raw materials, cement additives, leather tanning, silage and piglet feed additives.

At present, calcium formate is mostly produced by neutralization process, which has the disadvantages of high production cost and low efficiency. Domestic calcium formate is mainly used in piglet feed, feed consumption of around 200 tons/year, cement additive consumption is in the period of rapid development, leather tanning demand is still starting, the sale volume is not very large.

On the other hand, calcium formate is one of the traditional export products in China. However, the domestic production technology and equipment level of calcium formate are still backward, facing severe test in the competition.
